Glitching

Earlier this year (academic year that is, I am still a student so everything starts in October…) I met a pretty awesome guy in PhotoSoc who introduced me to the concept of Glitch Art and Databending. Basically altering a photo in non-visual ways; so looking at the code and changing that, for example.

It’s a pretty interesting idea and you definitely get some unusual results. Up to this point I’ve only tried editing the code of images to glitch them and, more recently, converting .bmp images to audio files and editing in audacity.

It’s been pretty fun and I’ve already learnt quite a lot but I still have a long way to go before I’m any good, still here’s a few of the results I’ve had so far!
