Being An Atheist

You know that old saying about never talking about politics or religion because you might offend people? Well, I was already silly enough to talk about politics on my Youtube Channel, so I figured it couldn’t hurt that much to throw a little religion in there too.

I (half) joke. But truth is, I really enjoy watching a lot of atheism videos. I am an atheist and I’m very comfortable feeling that I don’t need any kind of religion or spirituality in my life.

My Thoughts on Religion

Logically and rationally, I can’t understand why anyone would believe in the idea of a god or even think the stories in holy texts could be true. I don’t understand how people can read texts like the Bible and claim it’s full of love and a source of moral guidelines

But, at the same time, I do understand why people choose to be religious; it can offer comfort and there’s the community aspect and everything like that, so I can respect that about it. It’s just for me, I can get those things elsewhere, and so don’t have a need for religion.

All that said, I think it’s important that we don’t all get set in our ways just believe that our own views are the only correct ones. I think it’s important to listen to other people’s opinions and evaluate why we agree or disagree with them.

This means I end up watching a lot of videos and reading a lot of blog posts and articles about religion and atheism, written from numerous perspectives.
